Asteroids And Cosmic Origins At Planetarium

What are the chances that an asteroid will hit Earth? Friday, June 9, Dr. Galen Gisler will prelude the new film Incoming! with a discussion about the cosmic risks associated with asteroids. This special show takes place at 7 p.m. in the Los Alamos Nature Center planetarium.
 
Incoming!, a film that traces the paths of comets and asteroids, will play in the planetarium at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, June 10 and 11. The film takes a close-up look at interstellar collisions that have impacted Earth—as well as those still pending!
 
The Los Alamos Nature Center will be open regular hours this month: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday as well as 1-4 p.m. Sunday. The nature center is open late Tuesdays, until 8 p.m. and closed Thursdays for regular maintenance.
