Zia Realty Group has announced that Associate Broker Carrie Montoya-Pegg is the company’s Top Producer of the Year. She garnered more than $4 million in Real Estate sales in 2016.
Montoya-Pegg attributes her success to hard work and a passion for people.
“I’m very much a people person – I really love people and in my work every situation is different because the people are different and that makes it so interesting and a wonderful challenge,” Montoya-Pegg said. “To be successful just takes a lot of hard work and dedication … you’ve got to be social and willing to devote the time necessary to meet deadlines and do a good job.”
She has strong ties to northern New Mexico. She was raised in Pojoaque and has spent most of her adult career in Los Alamos. She has been a licensed associate broker since April 2013 and obtained her Qualifying Brokers License in November 2015.
Montoya-Pegg provides Real Estate services to Los Alamos, Jemez Springs, Pojoaque, Santa Fe and Rio Arriba County. She also is the lead broker of the Zia Realty Group Jemez Springs team.
She began specializing in rural areas and selling septics and wells in the Jemez, Valley and Santa Fe County.
“I’m a self taught broker, a lot of my work is taking trainings and staying on top of all the latest information in the Real Estate field,” she said.
In January, Montoya-Pegg was awarded the Seller Representative Specialist (SRSsm) designation, the premier seller agency designation in the country. The SRS is conferred by the Council of Real Estate Brokerage Managers (CRB) and is an official credential of the National Association of REALTORS®. This means Montoya-Pegg is part of an elite group of real estate professionals in North America who have earned the SRSsm designation. All were required to successfully complete a comprehensive course in seller representation, pass a comprehensive exam and subscribe to the REALTOR® Code of Ethics.
Montoya-Pegg also is a certified Accredited Buyers Representative (ABR®) and Real Estate Negotiation Expert. She is an active MLS participant of the Santa Fe Association of REALTORS® and the Greater Albuquerque Association of REALTORS®. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business management.
With her experience and certifications, Montoya-Pegg now trains new associate brokers for Zia Realty Group. She shared some of her advice for future associate brokers.
“The first year is always the hardest, but stick with it and stay well trained and devoted and it will really pay off,” she said. “Helping people find a home is a wonderful and rewarding career.”
