ASPEN News:

Aspen Elementary School’s first and second graders, under the direction of music teacher Andrea Dowdy, presented a musical “Pete the Cat” Thursday for staff, students and parents in the school gymnasium.

Pete the Cat is a well-loved children’s book character from a series of books written by Eric Litwin. A happy and friendly big blue cat, Pete “looks for the good in every day” and never worries about the little things in life.

Scenery for the event was created by Britt Williams, school art teacher, first and second grade teachers were there to support their classes every step of the way, and select 6th graders acted as stage hands.

Rumor has it that first grade teacher Sharon Allen portrayed Pete the Cat, but no one is really sure who was hiding under that fuzzy blue costume with the huge head!! What is known is that staff and students alike have been boppin’ down the halls of the school for the past two days hummin’ Pete’s catchy tunes because as Pete says, “IT’S ALL GOOD!”
