Staff Report

This morning (Tuesday, April 30, 2013) Los Alamos County issued the following message: “Ashley Pond Park Improvements – The consideration of award of contract has been pulled from this evening’s Council meeting agenda. As soon as a new date is available for consideration of award, an update will be posted to the webpage”

At tonight’s council meeting the County Council was scheduled to consider “Contract for General Services, Agreement No. AGR13-3962 with Santa Clara Construction, LLC in the Amount of $1,682,000, plus Applicable Gross Receipts Tax, for the Construction of Ashley Pond Improvement Project.”   This agenda item was part of tonight’s consent agenda, but will now be pulled from the agenda.

The Los Alamos Daily Post asked county personnel what caused the contract consideration to be pulled from the consent agenda.

Reports from the County indicate that a contractor, other than Santa Clara Construction, has raised a concern regarding the request for proposal for this project. The Procurement Department recommended that it is most prudent to re-review all of the submitted proposals in regard to the issue raised by the objecting contractor.

It is expected that the review will only take a day or two, after which the consideration of an award for the project will be placed back on the next available County Council agenda.

This action is not expected to delay the project schedule.
