Olions Preview Peformance of Thoroughly Modern Millie Begins 7 p.m. Today

Los Alamos High School Olions Thespian Club is gearing up for their production of Thoroughly Modern Millie which begins with a preview at 7 p.m., today in Duane Smith Auditorium.

The musical is based on the 1967 film of the same name, which tells the story of a small-town girl, Millie Dillmount (played by Camille Rousculp), who moves to New York and assumes the flapper lifestyle.

YMCA News:

Top honors were awarded to dancers among 12 acts that performed at The Family YMCA’s “Got Dance” Variety Showcase Friday at New Beginnings Fellowship Church.  

Victoria Hypes was named the Judges’ and Peoples’ Choice Individual Winner for her Irish Dance rendition of “I’ll Make a Man Out of You.”

The Los Alamos Arts Council’s (LAAC) Spring Arts and Crafts Fair is a long-standing tradition in Los Alamos. Each year, the local nonprofit organization strives to present the community with an event that features quality and variety.

“We try very hard to make sure the quality of the artists is high and also unique,” LAAC Vice President Lori Dauelsberg said.

This year’s fair, which is 9 a.m.

The Los Alamos Symphony Orchestra (LASO) will perform its Spring Concert at 7 p.m. Friday, May 2 at Crossroads Bible Church and the viola section is busy preparing. The program includes “Overture to Nabucco” by Giuseppe Verdi, “Carmen Suite #1” by Georges Bizet and “Symphony in D minor” by César Franck.

Regardless of whether you have actually seen "Casablanca," you have probably heard a few of these quotes before. But nothing compares to hearing them in their original context.

Moviegoers will have a chance to see "Casablanca" again or for the first time at 6:30 p.m.
