The Arts in Public Places Advisory Board meets at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23 in Room 110 at the Los Alamos County Municipal Building at 1000 Central Ave.
 
The public is invited to attend.

A Minutes from the Arts in Public Places Board Meeting on July 26, 2018.

4. CURRENT AND FUTURE PROJECTS
A  Update on Artwork for the  Hwy 502 Underpass  – discuss and vote on the possibility of commissioning  artwork by Evelyn Rosenberg
B Presentation by Hans Snyder regarding a donation offer of the “Sunflower” sculpture made by Ed Grothus from the former “Black Hole” – discuss and vote on a recommendation regarding the donation
C Discuss and vote on the final budget for commissioning woven glass kites to be installed on the fireplace at the White Rock Branch Library (Carson)
D Discuss and vote on the costs for re-locating  “Spirit Dance” from Ashley Pond to the Columbarium  including a new base (Carson)
E  Discuss and vote on potential artwork for the Los Alamos airport  – donated painting by Fran Stoval, aerial photograph by Don Taylor, and woven metal art by Maria Jonsson (Smith)
 
5. OTHER BUSINESS
A  Discuss and vote on options for “Eye in the Sky” (metal eagle) by Rick Cunningham as requested in an email from Scott Hicks at Shidoni Gallery
B Update on the Call for Art Ideas – continue reviewing and evaluating the proposals, decide  and vote on next steps for successful proposals, including “Smart Flower” by Eric Thelander and woven metal wall art by Maria Jonsson
C Appoint an APPB member to serve as  liaison to the Parks and Recreation Board to receive updates on the upcoming Recreation CIP projects
D Discuss and vote on changing dates for APPB meetings (Korkos)

A  Art Inventory/Maintenance issues – Appoint an APPB member to be the point person for the public art inventory,  including plaques, repair, and restoration needed for the collection; vote on recommendations for maintenance, if needed
B Public Art Archives – discuss progress to date and vote on what needs to be done next (Ozment)
