LAAC News:

The Arts Council invites the public to attend the Seventh Annual Sec Sandoval Chalk Walk Saturday. Participants can “purchase” a piece of the side walk near Fuller Lodge for $5 and Los Alamos Arts Council members get their first piece of sidewalk for free.

Chalk also is available for purchase. Artists can draw in their squares beginning at 10 a.m. and must be finished at 12:30 p.m. At 12:30 p.m., judging will commence for all entries in the Chalk Walk. Participants are encouraged to create a piece that honors this year’s theme of “Science Rules.”

There are five categories that can be entered in for judging: Ages 7 and younger, 8 to 12 years old, 13 to 17 years old, Adult and Family/Organization (multi-age group). Members of the community also are  invited to be judges of the pieces presented. You may find the application at our website: www.losalamosartscoucil.org, pick up an application at the Los Alamos Arts Council office located in Fuller Lodge, or pick up an application the day of the event.

The Arts Council is a 501c3 non-profit corporation founded in 1968, with a mission to support and foster the arts in Los Alamos County and Northern New Mexico. For more information, visit LosAlamosArtsCouncil.org or call 505.663.0477.
