Aquatomics Seeks Fond Memories Of Bill Hudson

SPORTS News:

Los Alamos Aquatomics will be hosting the second annual Bill Hudson Memorial Open Jan.  28-29.

Many Los Alamos residents have fond memories of Hudson as a respected icon who left a rich legacy for the community to continue.

In his farewell letter to the community Aug. 9, Hudson said:

“When the swimming pool opened in 1951, I was offered the job of managing the pool and scheduling its use. First, I started swimming lessons … From these programs came my first competitive team, consisting of three students, two boys and one girl. We made many trips down the two-lane highway to Albuquerque. This was the beginning of the Aquatomics, a swim team that has spanned 50 years and is going strong today (Los Alamos Daily Post, 2015).”

In remembering his legacy, Aquatomics is seeking sponsorships from local businesses to support its 501 C.(3) non-profit organization to continue nurturing and striving for excellence for its many swimmers. Business owner’s reminiscences of fond memories of Hudson along with their company logo and generous sponsorship will be featured in the Aquatomics’ meet program.
