Aquatic Center Expands Swim Times Beginning May 17

COUNTY News:

Starting Monday, May 17, the Larry H. Walkup Aquatic Center will begin to offer expanded swim time for lane reservations. The expanded lane time will increase from 45 minutes to 1 hour and 15 minutes, depending on the session.

Main Pool lap swimming hours are 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and limited to one session per day. 

Also beginning May 17, the Therapy Pool will have an updated schedule: 

Adult only

  • 7:30-8:45 a.m.
  • 1:30-2:30 p.m.

Family Swim

  • 9-10:15 a.m.
  • 12:15-1:15 p.m.
  • 2:45-4 p.m.

**Children 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult**

Gentle Fitness Class will be offered 11 a.m. to noon Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays

Patrons may call the Aquatic Center at 505.662.8170 to reserve a pool lane for main pool lap swim  or warm water exercise in the therapy pool by calling one day ahead for reservations; for Monday reservations, call the Friday before. Reservations will be taken 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Note: There will be no walk-in reservations allowed and locker rooms are still not available. The 50m pool is arranged in Short Course fashion (25yds). When calling for a reservation for a lane, feel free to request A (mezzanine) or B (mural) side of the pool
