Residents are still welcome to apply for a new Community Development Advisory Board. The County has extended the deadline for applications to 5 p.m. Monday, July 9.
The new board was created by the Los Alamos County Council in May and tasked with making recommendations to the Council regarding the development, implementation and enforcement of County property maintenance codes within the corporate boundaries of the County.
Seven members are needed to fill the board. They will serve a three-year term. Note that initial membership of this board shall be appointed by the County Council for staggered terms of three yeras. Three initial appointments shall expire after one year. The Council is expected to appoint Board members at its Council meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 31 in Council Chambers.
Meetings of the new advisory board will be held the third Monday of each month. In August, the meeting is at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20 in Room 110 in the Municipal Building.
