Annual Yum Walk/Run Is Oct. 26

YUM RUN/WALK News:
 
The Annual Yum Run/Walk 5k, 10K, and 1K is starting at 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 in front of Ruby K’s Bagel Shop downtown Los Alamos off Central Avenue right across from the Post Office.
 
The 5K will be 2 loops around the downtown area and the 1K will head down Central Avenue Westbound and return. The 10K is mainly a trail run that will be a short loop downtown and then head down the trail behind the Aquatic Center and return to Central Avenue.
 
The 5K and 10K Runs will have age-graded handicaps for all ages for timing purposes. 
 
All proceeds will benefit the LA Cares Charity Organization. LA Cares runs the food bank in Los Alamos. They feed 65-75 families a month. Families receive a box of staples like rice, noodles, and beans.They can “shop” for specialty items. LA Cares also provides rent and utility payment assistance for people who have fallen behind and are in danger of having their utilities shut off or losing their housing.
