Annual K2 Women’s Weekend Saturday

Take to the slopes for a good cause this weekend

The K2 Ski Company will once again host its K2 Women’s Weekend event Saturday. The event benefits the Anita Salas Memorial Fund.

The majority of the festivities will be at Pajarito Mountain Ski Area, beginning with a Women’s K2 Ski Demos at 8 a.m., followed at 10 a.m. and again at 1 p.m. by ski clinics with Telemark and Alpine Ski Coach Pete Guiliani. At 3-5 p.m., participants can take part in the Beer and Bands, which will showcase DK and the Affordables and Santa Fe Brewing Company.

Additionally, there will be a silent auction 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the ski lodge.

The fun will move further into town 5-9 p.m. with the Pink Tie Affair and an Evening of Jazz at UnQuarked, 145 Central Park Square. The wine room will host a dry-land ski clinic 5-6 p.m., feature Chef Laura Hamilton’s food, a silent auction and jazz music by the Craig Martin Experience.

There is a no registration fee to participate in the event but check-in at the Pajarito Mountain Lodge is required. Lift tickets cost $30 for participants. The suggested donation for the Pink Tie Affair is $25. Both men and women are welcome to take part in the weekend for women event and the Pink Tie Affair is open to the public.

Supporting the event goes to a worthy cause; the Anita Salas Memorial Fund supports those in New Mexico affected by breast or cervical cancer.
