AFR News:

ANGEL FIRE — Kids might be heading back to school this week, but Angel Fire Resort is helping summer last just a little bit longer with the annual Balloons Over Angel Fire Weekend event, Mimosas on Main Street, and a slate of outdoor concerts in August, including a well-known Austin-based band, The Staudt Brothers.

BALLOONS OVER ANGEL FIRE

This weekend watch a field of more than 35 hot-air balloons at sunrise as they gracefully float up into the cool morning air of the Moreno Valley. Balloons Over Angel Fire is one of the few high-mountain hot-air balloon events in the country. Learn how the balloons work, talk to the pilots and spend the weekend enjoying the laid-back pace of Angel Fire. The event originally scheduled in June, was rescheduled due to the Hermits Peak/Calf Canyon Fire. It takes place 7-10 a.m. through Sunday at the Angel Fire Airport.

MIMOSAS ON MAIN

Saturday Aug. 13, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., the resort will host a street fair on North Angel Fire Road. There will be artisans, food, face painting and live music. The all-day event will include a Mimosa Garden and a full Kids Zone for children.

LIVE CONCERTS

Music can take you down a path you’ve never traveled before. The Cool Summer Nights Concert Series takes place every Friday night through Sept. 9 in Frontier Park and offers a variety of musical genres that allow guests to enjoy the beauty of the outdoors and the fun of live music. Pack a picnic or enjoy food, wine and beer from the local food vendors. This is a free event and family friendly.
