The 6th and final season of Downton Abbey is upon us and as usual, it does not disappoint!
As a finale to this last season, we decided to change things up a bit and have our Downton Abbey Tea a week before the FINAL episode. We hope you’ll put this event on your calendars and join us again for An Afternoon at Downton Abbey Tea, 2-4 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 14 at the Betty Ehart Seionr Center.
As our tea will be on Valentine’s Day, we will revolve around this holiday theme, and put it into a 1925 setting.
We are so fortunate this year to have multiple performances for the entertainment portion of our tea. From the LAHS ballroom dance class, a pair will perform to the music “Time to Say Good-bye” (Downton Abbey trailer theme) and (at this time pending) a solo ballet performance, also set to the music from Downton Abbey.
Additionally, we are very excited to have “Chuck’s Quartet” from the Lads of Enchantment Barbershop Group perform four Valentine love songs.
As we have done in the past two years, we hope to see you all in period costumes, either upstairs or downstairs attire. We, in turn, will serve you a mouthwatering afternoon tea with extraordinary entertainment.
All ages are welcome at this fundraising event. Last year our event hosted 62 enthusiastic patrons. Tickets, priced at $10 for children 12 and under, and $20 for adults, will be available the Senior Center Reception Desk. All proceeds benefit social programs offered by the Betty Ehart Senior Center and the White Rock Senior Center.
This is the perfect opportunity to treat your sweetheart to a Valentine’s Day event. We hope to see you again this year at our afternoon of elegance!
