Alzheimer’s Advocacy Day At Roundhouse Jan. 30

Alzheimer’s News:

Officials with the New Mexico Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association plan to stage an Alzheimer’s Advocacy Day at the State Capitol during the January legislative session.

The event will provide a valuable opportunity for all who are, or have been, affected by the disease to discuss, advocate and increase awareness of Alzheimer’s with state legislators, they said.

Chapter members will host legislators, caregivers and people diagnosed with the disease, along with concerned members of the community 9 a.m. to noon, Jan.30 in the Rotunda of the State Capitol Building, also known as “The Roundhouse.”

A Press Conference, beginning at 10 a.m., will feature remarks from members of the legislature and the community. A proclamation designating this special event as “Alzheimer’s Awareness Day in the Legislature” will follow.

The Capitol Building or Roundhouse is at the corner of Old Santa Fe Trail and Paseo de Peralta in Santa Fe.

The event is free of charge and members of the public are invited.
