Los Alamos native and former UNM Lobo Alex Kirk begins his fourth week of team workouts this week after deciding to forgo his senior season and declare for the NBA Draft.
Kirk, 22, graduated in May from UNM with a business degree. As of today, he has worked out for eight teams including the Chicago Bulls, Indiana Pacers, Philadelphia 76ers, San Antonio Spurs, Utah Jazz, Atlanta Hawks, Toronto Raptors and Charlotte Hornets.
Kirk has travelled approximately 14,600 miles in the last month. Today he is flying to Washington, D.C. where he will workout for the Washington Wizards Monday. The rest of the week Kirk has four more workouts scheduled with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Dallas Mavericks, Minnesota Timberwolves and Houston Rockets.
There are four other teams that have shown interest in scheduling workouts but they have not been scheduled and time may not allow them as the NBA Draft is June 26.
