ALBUQUERQUE ― The National Hispanic Cultural Center is again partnering with Guanábana Productions on Albuquerque Latin Dance Festival 2018, an unforgettable weekend of instruction, workshops, lectures, films and dancing under the stars.
This year, the festival returns to its roots with the theme “Home Is Where the Art Is!,” highlighting all that New Mexico has, all that it does, and all that it is.
Events at the Center are scheduled Aug. 24-26; for tickets to the main Saturday night concert Aug. 25 ($20 in advance, $25 at the gate), call the NHCC Box Office at (505).724.4771 or visit www.nhccnm.org. For additional dates and a full listing of events, visit http://www.abqlatinfest.org/.
The festival, an annual rhythm and movement celebration, features live performances by world-class dancers as well as non-competitive dance showcases, parties, and three days of dance workshops with experienced instructors and performers.
Additional attractions include dance films and lectures. Saturday night will bring four of Albuquerque’s favorite salsa/Latin bands together on one stage: Son Como Son, Charanga del Valle, Ivon Ulibarri & Cafe Mocha, and a special surprise to end the night.
This is a rare opportunity to join these powerhouse bands for live music, dancing, showcase performances, food, fun, and more! Grab your dancing shoes, turn up the heat, and join us in celebrating our local dance, music, and community!
