Air Force, NMED Host Public Information Meeting

KIRTLAND AIR FORCE BASE The Air Force and the New Mexico Environment Department (NMED) will co-host a deep dive workshop at 5 p.m., and public information meeting at 6 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 15, at the African American Performing Arts Center, to provide an update about the Kirtland Air Force Base Bulk Fuels Facility leak cleanup activities.
 
From 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., interested community members are invited to participate in a technical “Deep Dive” discussion where groundwater modeling experts will present and discuss current groundwater models being developed and used by the project, followed by a question and answer period.
 
Community members not attending the technical “Deep Dive” may talk with Air Force and NMED technical experts during a 5:30-6 p.m. poster session.
 
The main meeting presentation runs from 6 to 8 p.m. and will include a project status update and overview of the NMED BFF Public Involvement Plan, as well as a question and answer period. Representatives from the Air Force, NMED, and the City of Albuquerque will be available at the public meeting.
 
The African American Performing Arts Center is located at 310 San Pedro Drive NE in Albuquerque.
