ADC Builders will host a grand opening for its brand new showroom 1-4 p.m. Saturday, March 22. Refreshments will be served. As part of the grand opening event, ADC is offering 25 percent off all DeWils cabinets ordered by April 15 and other showroom specials.

The business, at 212 DP Road, has been in this location for about 18 months. Owner Alec Caspersen wanted to add a showroom to his workspace in order to show off what ADC can do for clients who want to remodel a kitchen, bathroom or home office.

Caspersen grew up in Los Alamos and started out in the construction business by working with his father, Roland Caspersen, a local building contractor. He started his own business in 1997.

Caspersen started out doing all kinds of building work, but now mostly specializes in remodeling kitchens, bathrooms and offices. He was certified as a solid surface fabricator in 1997 and doing counter tops, shower surrounds and other fabrication work is one of his specialties.

“Solid surface is really an excellent choice for countertops, vanities and shower surrounds,” Caspersen said. “One of the things I love about it is that it’s very repairable. The surface can be sanded down after 10 years and look like new.”

If there’s a mishap, such as burn from a hot pan, the surface can be patched and you could never tell, he said.

“We have endless colors and styles. People think of solid surface as the plain white of years ago. Now the possibilities are endless,” Caspersen said.

ADC carries cabinetry in a variety of price ranges and styles. The top-of-the-line DeWils cabinets are solid wood with high-end hardware and are extremely customizable, but the less expensive lines are also nice, he said. ADC can do most of the work involved with a kitchen or bath remodel, including drywall and painting, so customers have the convenience of dealing with just one builder. They’ll hook up the plumbing, too.

The new showroom will allow Caspersen to show clients how cabinets and countertops will look when installed. It also will provide a pleasant space for clients to look at samples and talk over design ideas with Caspersen and his staff.

For now, the showroom is open only by appointment. Call Caspersen at 505.490.3107 or 505.672.3007 to schedule an appointment.
