Los Alamos Chiropractic and Acupuncture Center of Los Alamos, located at 2610 Trinity Drive #14, have been serving the health care needs of Los Alamos for more than 15 years. Both Dr. Nancy Savoia, DC and Dr. Henry Ahlefelder, DOM strive to provide quality complementary health care to their patients.

Savoia came to Los Alamos in late 1996 from Texas because she loves the outdoors and scenery of New Mexico. She subsequently bought the Los Alamos Chiropractic Center from Bruce Mazur in 1997.

Ahlefelder lived in Holland and Sweden for many years before moving to Albuquerque. He bought the Acupuncture Center of Los Alamos from Andrea Johansen and started his practice in Los Alamos in 2008.

In 2002, Savoia and Johansen formed a small health care cooperative, comprised of a variety of therapists in one setting.

“We each own our own businesses, but share the common space and all act jointly toward the same end,” Savoia said. “It was the first of its kind in Los Alamos. Henry took over Andrea’s practice in 2008, so the cooperative continues to serve Los Alamos residents.”

It is a simple one stop, full service center with acupuncture, chiropractic and posture therapy training.

“We fit nicely with other treatments people are getting at our center,” Ahlefelder said.

Ahlefelder and Savoia accept most insurance and Elena Knaus is the office manager and Brittany Perera works for the group part time.
If they could talk to everyone in Los Alamos, what special thing would they want them to know about their business?

“Between all of us, we can treat more issues than people think, such as pain, anxiety, insomnia and a variety of other issues,” Savoia said.
