Abert’s Squirrel Spotted On Club Road

This Abert’s squirrel was spotted today bonding with a stuffed Santa squirrel on the branch of a tree in the front yard of a home on Club Road in Los Alamos. The Abert’s squirrel also is known as the tassel-eared squirrel and can be found in the mountainous areas of New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, Arizona and parts of Wyoming and north central Mexico. Most of the Abert’s squirrel’s diet is made up of parts of the ponderosa pine. Photo by Erika Cooper Gorman
