This Christmas Eve, the heart of Los Alamos lit up with joy, community, and a profound sense of hope. Under the glowing lights of Ashley Pond, Freedom Church hosted a beautiful candlelight service that brought families, friends, and neighbors together to celebrate the season.
The evening air was filled with the sounds of classic Christmas carols and laughter. Guests were treated to free hot cocoa to warm hand warmers to warm their hands and hearts, while children enjoyed festive games, won prizes, and received special gift bags filled with goodies. Families left with gift bags of their own, which included ornaments and candy canes to take a piece of the night’s joy home with them.
As candles were lit one by one, the soft glow reflected the message shared by Pastor Mike Brake—a message of light shining in the darkness and hope that transforms lives. It was a moment to pause and reflect on the season’s deeper meaning: love, connection, and the promise of new beginnings.
