The next “Matter of Balance” fall prevention class begins at 9:45 a.m. Monday, Sept. 12 in the lower level classroom at the Betty Ehart Senior Center.
Many older adults experience concerns about falling and restrict their activities. “Matter of Balance” is an award-winning program designed to manage falls and increase activity levels. Participants will learn to view falls as controllable, set goals for increasing activity, make changes to reduce fall risks at home, exercise to increase strength and balance. All participants will receive a workbook to keep. The suggested donation for the eight sessions is $40. The instructors are Loretta Stubbs and Pauline Schneider.
Who should attend?
- Anyone who has fallen in the past;
- Anyone who has restricted their activities because of falling; and
- Anyone interested in improving balance, flexibility and strength.
