A.J. Herrera New Head Coach of Topper Girls Soccer

The Los Alamos High School Athletic Department has announced that A.J. Herrera of White Rock has accepted the Head Girls Soccer coach position at the high school. 

Herrera was recently the head coach of the boys program at Santa Fe High School. He had been there since 2007. Coach Herrera was the Los Alamos Boys soccer coach in the 2006 season where the team went 16-6 and was a state semi-final team and he was an assistant coach at Los Alamos in 2004 and 2005. He has his National “D” soccer license and his National Youth License.

Herrera has worked numerous soccer camps and has been involved in youth soccer.  He was a standout high school soccer player for St. Pius X from 1995-98 and played collegiately at University of Maryland from 1999-2003. 

He also has National Team Experience (1996-2000) as a player for the U16, U17 and U18 teams. He was in the national pool for the U20 team and a part of the Youth Olympics in Moscow in 1997. Coach Herrera has a Masters in Business Administration from the College of Santa Fe and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Maryland.
