Council Tentatively Approves County Manager’s FY23 Budget

The Los Alamos County Manager’s proposed FY23 budget, totaling $16,630,944, is tentatively approved during tonight’s council meeting. Council tentatively approved 7-0 the budget, which includes three budget options: $150,000 for an independent job market study, $110,000 to hire a Human Resource Technician, which will be 1 FTE, and $100,000 for a Social Media Coordinator, which also is 1 FTE. There was discussion about the the Social Media Coordinator but ultimately council voiced support for the position. ‘There’s a definite emerging need for more interactive communication,’ Councilor David Izraelevitz said.
