Champions of Youth Ambitions (C’YA) is calling on artists of all ages, abilities and in all mediums as they inaugurate a plan for a 2027 community calendar called CommUNITY Year-round Art (C’YA). The goal is to reflect on an answer to the question, What does good health look like to you?
The result will be in an 18-month community health/wellness education project. Local contributors have until September 1st to submit 2-3 photographs, and a form can be requested at cya.org@att.net . The 12 winners will be asked to feature the original at a Village Arts community showcase in January. Details to be announced.
The art will be turned into a calendar featuring the winners, with a health or wellness topic featured each month. In addition, local, state, and national resources related to the health topic will be provided. Monthly articles will appear in partnership with the Los Alamos Daily Post to highlight each art piece, their contributor, educate about important health related issues and aide people to easily seek resources to help.
Winners will receive a $50 gift certificate for a local business. An additional prize will go to the art selected by the community as a “fan favorite,” from the Village Arts showcase. Local businesses wishing to sponsor a month will also receive an article and can contact C’YA for information. They can be reached at cya.org@att.net or 505.695.9139.
