4-H Information Meeting Sept. 30

NMSU News:
Los Alamos Cooperative Extension Service is holding a 4-H informational meeting at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday Sept. 30, at 1042 Oro Court. 
Los Alamos Team 4-H is:
  • 4-H offers hundreds of projects including, gardening, horses, interior design, sewing, arts and crafts, cooking, raising a seeing-eye puppy, sheep, rabbits, goats, fashion design, food preservation, dairy, beef, and many, many more!
  • 4-H has a long history of helping youth “learn by doing”. 4H focuses on teaching new topics and developing life skills that include public speaking and record keeping.
Community Service:
  • 4-H’ers do projects that help Los Alamos and are:
    • Four times more likely to make contributions to their communities (Grades 7-12)
    • Two times more likely to be civically active (Grades 8-12)
Parents and Volunteers:
  • Parents and volunteers are crucial to 4H clubs. Capable, interested adult volunteers are always needed to lead clubs. Training and support are provided so no previous experience is necessary.
