The Hill Stompers Band, known for their fun performances, crazy antics and exciting music in Los Alamos, Santa Fe and the region, will lead a family-friendly pub crawl through downtown Los Alamos at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 2 that starts at Pajarito Brewpub and Grill.
“The most fun part about a pub crawl is getting music in the streets,” Hill Stompers Band Leader Jeff Favorite said. “Last year we played and danced all the way from Smith’s to UnQuarked. The primary purpose of the Hill Stompers Band is music education. We want everyone, especially kids, to see how much fun it is to play music. The venues are all open to minors, and we really want to thank the participating pubs. It may be loud and hectic, but they should see an increase in sales that night!”
The schedule for the August 2 pub crawl:
Pajarito Brewpub and Grill at 5:30 p.m.;
Smith’s Marketplace at 6:30 p.m.;
Unquarked (the Wine Room) at 7:50 p.m.; and
Bathtub Row Brewing Co-Op at 9:10 p.m.
There is no registration required and the event is free and open to the public.
The band has led a Mardi Gras Pub Crawl around the Plaza area of Santa Fe for 18 years, and informal pub crawls down the main streets of Durango and Telluride for many years. These events feature marching band music in the streets and other unexpected venues. They also perform annually as part of the Los Alamos Creative District’s Tuesdays at the Pond series, and at various community-wide events like Los Alamos ScienceFest.
The Los Alamos Creative District, Los Alamos MainStreet and Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce encourage the Hill Stompers’ efforts to engage the community in fun events that also help promote local businesses.
