2026 Los Alamos County Fair And Rodeo Is Aug. 7, 8, 9

COUNTY News:

The 2026 Los Alamos County Fair and Rodeo will take place Aug. 7, 8, 9, with a night rodeo on Saturday, Aug. 8.

Parade

            • Los Alamos County will also coordinate the annual parade entries. 
            • The 2026 Parade Theme is Rodeo Nights. Register to enter the parade scheduled for 10-11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8. 

Vendors

  • Vendors interested in participating must complete and return a vendor permit form to the Recreation Division by July 30, 2026. Vendors planning on vending at County-sponsored events must have submitted paperwork to the Community Development Division (CDD) for processing.

Rodeo

  • To register to enter as a rodeo contestant, call or text TA Rodeo at (719) 580-3022

Rodeo admission prices:

  • 2 years and younger: FREE
  • Youth (3 – 17) & Seniors (60+): $5
  • Adults (18 – 59): $10
  • Family of 4: $25

Volunteers Needed: Parade Portion

  • The Los Alamos County Recreation Division is seeking Adult Volunteers for the Parade portion of this event. Volunteers will be assigned a location where roadblocks are established to help ensure vehicles do not enter the parade route area. 
  • The Parade will be held starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8.
  • Volunteer check-in is at 9:30 a.m. at the Old Smiths Parking Lot.
  • 18 years and older.

Friday Night Summer Concert Series

Hooks and the Huckleberries will headline the concert Friday. Aug. 7 at Ashley Pond Park.

Saturday, Aug. 8

  • Festival & Fair, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Ashley Pond Park
  • County Fair Exhibits, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Mesa Public Library.
  • County Fair Parade, 10 a.m. on Central Avenue.

All ages are encouraged to register for a parade entry, which can be a float, auto, walking, horse, or livestock. Everyone is invited to come out, pick a spot and watch the festivities.   • Sunday, Aug. 9
  • 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • North Mesa Stables
  • The community is invited to take a walk around the stables as part of the Los Alamos County Fair and Rodeo. Meet the animals up close and learn about horses, goats chickens, geese, and lamas as well as various types of riding. 

Rodeo:

  • Tough Enough to Wear Pink, Including watermelon eating contest, 1-5 p.m. at Brewer Arena.
