LAMTA News:

The Los Alamos Music Teachers Association (LAMTA) opens the invitation for serious music students to compete in the annual District Honors Auditions held by the Professional Music Teachers of New Mexico.

The Northeast-I District Competition, which is open to all students in Los Alamos, Santa Fe, Taos, Española and Las Vegas and surrounding areas, will be held Saturday, Oct. 19 at UNM-Los Alamos.

The first-place winners of each age category will compete at the state finals, which will be held Saturday Nov. 9 in Keller Hall at UNM-Albuquerque.

Annually, the honors auditions have seen students of the highest calibre prepare recital-ready pieces for esteemed judges who will write helpful feedback. The competition is open to all instruments and voice types, and there are age categories for pre-college to collegiate students. Non-member teachers can still enter and are welcome to submit students for an extra fee.

All information about the 2024 honors auditions can be found on losalamosmusicteachers.net. LAMTA is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and the local affiliation of the Professional Music Teachers of New Mexico, and the Music Teachers National Association.
