2017 Youth Shakespeare Festival Santa Fe Dec. 9

The International Shakespeare Center Santa Fe is is hosting its second annual Youth Shakespeare Festival Santa Fe 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Dec. 9, at New Mexico School for the Arts at 275 E 275 E. Alameda St. in Santa Fe.
Seven Santa Fe Schools and Upstart Crows of Santa Fe perform scenes from Shakespeare’s plays. 

Students from Academy of Technology and the Classics, Capital High, Monte del Sol Charter, New Mexico School for the Arts, Santa Fe High, Santa Fe Indian School, and Santa Fe Prep have been brushing up their Shakespeare since September. With workshops from Stage Fight Director Ambrose Ferber and Stratford Festival’s Edward Daranyi, these young Shakespeareans are ready to strut some serious classical theater.

With tavern songs, Elizabethan foods, and a stage fighting talk and demonstration with Ambrose Ferber and Ariana Karp, it’s a day packed with comedy, tragedy, poetry, dance, song, and swordplay.

Admission is $10, $5 for students.
