County Council Tentatively Approves CIP Budget

Los Alamos County Council tentatively approved 6-1 the Capital Improvement Project (CIP) budget during Monday night’s meeting. Councilor David Reagor was opposed. A few amendments were made including adding a line item for a social services facility with a budget of $500,000 for FY23 and re-ordering on the budget the potential shared recreation spaces between Los Alamos County and Los Alamos Public Schools. Council agreed to address a space in White Rock first before the proposed North Mesa facility as a result of the school district’s plans to replace both its White Rock elementary schools. Also, to balance funds added to the FY24 budget, the council agreed to reduce funds for economic development, which totaled $6 million. Screenshot/LADP
