SANTA FE – New Mexico state health officials have announced this afternoon 76 additional positive tests for COVID-19.

Los Alamos County remains at 24 cases today that have tested positive for COVID-19.

Today’s update announces 2 additional deaths reported in New Mexico related to COVID-19.

The New Mexico Department of Health reported today the most recent cases:

  • 19 new cases in Bernalillo County
  • 4 new cases in Chaves County
  • 2 new cases in Curry County
  • 10 new cases in Doña Ana County

Aquatic Center Closed Aug. 29-Sept. 7 For Annual Maintenance

COUNTY News:

The Walkup Aquatic Center will be closed for annual maintenance Saturday, Aug. 29 through Monday, Sept. 7.

Re-opening is scheduled for Tuesday Sept. 8.

During the closure, the Aquatic Center Front desk will be available by telephone 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday Aug. 31 through Friday Sept. 4 at 505.662.8170.

17th Annual Clean Up Los Alamos Day Sept. 12

Los Alamos County Environmental Services and the Environmental Sustainability Board invite the community to participate in the 17th Annual Clean Up Los Alamos Day Saturday, Sept. 12.

Clean Up LA Day is where residents and businesses volunteer to pick up litter throughout the County.

Volunteers are encouraged to pick a location around the community to clean up and make beautiful. Locations can range from a favorite park, walking trail or around the neighborhood.

The Los Alamos Police Department is investigating a report of an indecent exposure incident occurring at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday at Rover Park in White Rock.

LAPD is requesting assistance from the public in identifying this person of interest.

The individual is described as a “light-skinned Hispanic” or a “dark-skinned Caucasian,” approximately 17-21 years old (but appearing young), about 5’ 9” to 6’ 1” tall, skinny but athletic, and with “scruffy” facial hair.
