Continuing through the end of December, the Los Alamos Police Department will be conducting traffic enforcement, focusing on accident related violations.

There also will be random DWI checkpoints throughout the county during this time frame.

The public can help reduce the risk of vehicle crashes by adhering to posted speed limit signs, allowing enough room between them and the vehicle they are following and driving with caution when roadways are wet.

Power issues caused by a crow are resolved as of 9 a.m. today in the Denver Steels neighborhood near Los Alamos High School.

Los Alamos Police Search For Suspected Hit & Run Driver

LAPD News:

The Los Alamos Police Department Criminal Investigations Section is investigating a possible hit & run of a vehicle vs. a cyclist that occurred around 7:45 a.m. June 27 on N.M. 4 near mile marker 56 (TA-33). 

LAPD Detectives have been interviewing witnesses and compiling evidence of this event.

Los Alamos County Sheriff Advises Community Of Newly Registered Sex Offender Jacob Weeks

Los Alamos County Sheriff Joseph Granville is advising the community of a newly registered sex offender.

Jacob Weeks registered Wednesday Sept. 2, 2020 with the local sheriff’s office.

He was convicted in the First District Court of Los Alamos of 1 count of “Criminal Sexual Contact of a Minor”, which is a third degree felony.

Weeks is residing at 20 N.M. 4 in White Rock.

Downtown Master Plan Design Workshops Sept. 21, Oct. 5

As part of the Downtown Master Plan project, the County and project team Dekker Perich Sabatini will host two virtual Design Workshops Sept. 21 and Oct. 5.

The workshops build upon the goals and vision identified during the Visioning Workshops held Aug. 19 and Aug. 20.
