FEMA Expands Qualifications For Disaster Unemployment Assistance For 2022 Wildfires In New Mexico

ALBUQUERQUE — Earlier this year, Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) was made available for individuals whose employment was impacted by the 2022 Wildfires.

Following the approval of Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s request to expand the federal Disaster Declaration, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has expanded this disaster declaration to include flooding, mudflows, and debris flows directly related to the 2022 Wildfires.

Small Business Recovery Assistance Program Launches Grants Funded Through American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA)

Economic Development Administrator Dan Ungerleider announced today the launch of Los Alamos County’s online Small Business Recovery Assistance Program, funded through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).

As of today, Los Alamos small business owners who suffered financial hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic can visit the County’s dedicated website, ARPA.losalamosnm.us to apply.

Signed into law by President Biden in 2021, the ARPA package provides $350 billion of relief to states, territories, and tribal and local governments in the wake of the public health emergency. Read More
