WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Senators Ben Ray Luján (D-NM.) and Deb Fischer (R-Neb.) recently introduced the Emergency Conservation Program Improvement Act to expedite producers’ access to federal disaster relief.

The legislation would specifically reform the Emergency Conservation Program (ECP) and Emergency Forest Restoration Program (EFRP) to provide producers impacted by disasters with the option to receive an up-front cost-share, based on existing USDA estimates. SANTA TERESA — Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham joined Burrell Aviation and Doña Ana County officials Friday to announce a new $72-million cargo aviation facility at the Doña Ana County Jetport.

The governor and Burrell Aviation CEO John Carver announced that Burrell Aviation will construct multiple new structures designed to expand cargo and distribution services, including facilities dedicated to air cargo handling, cold storage, distribution, and aircraft maintenance.

The new facility is expected to create up to 1,300 jobs.

The Los Alamos Job Fair held Thursday, Oct. 13 drew more than 100 job seekers to Fuller Lodge.

Sponsored by TechSource, Los Alamos County and the Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce, the Job Fair featured more than 30 participating businesses that are currently hiring. There were more than 100 job seekers that showed up!

The Chamber anticipates many hires will come from the Job Fair and thanks TechSource and Los Alamos County for their sponsorship of the event.

The Family YMCA is hosting a Vendor Market Saturday, Nov. 26, which is Small Business Saturday following Thanksgiving.

Vendor registration is now open at the Y, 1450 Iris St., and limited to 40. Every vendor who registers is eligible for a $250 lottery award courtesy of Enterprise Bank & Trust, limit of one chance per vendor, so chances of winning are 1 in 40.

New Mexico’s Cybersecurity Office Investigating Unauthorized Access To Information Systems At State Agency

SANTA FE — The Department of Information Technology’s (DoIT) Cybersecurity office is investigating unauthorized access at the state’s Regulation and Licensing Department (RLD).

The state continues to investigate the situation, but is confident that any unauthorized access has been isolated and mitigated.

The state is working closely with cybersecurity experts to make sure adequate protections are in place to prevent personal identifiable information of employees and RLD customers from being compromised.
