Veterans Services To Re-Open Statewide Offices Monday

SANTA FE — New Mexico Department of Veterans Services offices is reopening its offices next week to the public on an appointment-only basis.
Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday beginning Monday, July 12.
For this initial re-opening phase, veterans or their eligible dependents must make an appointment with a DVS veterans service officer (VSO) prior to a visit via the contact information below.

HSD Eliminates Burdensome Requirement For Low-Income Seniors To Get Help Paying For Medicare

SANTA FE — The New Mexico Human Services Department (HSD) announced it has eliminated a burdensome requirement that made it difficult for low-income seniors to get help paying for Medicare.
The previous requirement meant low-income individuals could not have assets or resources, such as a home or savings account, with a value exceeding $9,360 for an individual or $14,800 for a couple. SANTA FE – New Mexico Department of Health officials announced 132 new COVID-19 cases Thursday.
Los Alamos County reports 1 new case bringing the total to 542 people who have tested positive for COVID-19. (County totals are subject to change upon further investigation and determination of residency of individuals positive for COVID-19.)
This update includes 6 new death in New Mexico related to COVID-19.

SANTA FE — New Mexico households receiving Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) food benefits will continue to receive the maximum amount for their household size for the month of July, the New Mexico Human Services Department (HSD) announced.
