New Mexico Supreme Court Approves Pretrial Detention Rule Changes To Enhance Public Safety
SUPREME COURT News:
SANTA FE – The state Supreme Court has approved changes in New Mexico’s pretrial justice system to enhance public safety.
The Court issued orders last week to revise procedural rules governing when a person charged with a felony can be held in jail before trial. The rule amendments take effect for cases pending or filed on or after Nov. 23.

New Mexico Public Education Department Supported Workshops Designed To Help Parents

SANTA FE — The Public Education Department urges New Mexico parents to participate in a new series of virtual workshops designed to help them prioritize self-care and support their children in remote learning.
The workshop series was funded by PED and created by CNM Ingenuity, an outreach program of Central New Mexico Community College. The sessions, described in more detail here, are open to all New Mexicans at no cost and are available in English and Spanish.

SANTA FE – New Mexico state health officials have announced this afternoon 599 additional positive tests for COVID-19.
Los Alamos County has 2 new case today bringing the total to 40 cases that have tested positive for COVID-19.
Today’s update includes 7 new deaths in New Mexico related to COVID-19.
The New Mexico Department of Health reported today the most recent cases:
- 154 new cases in Bernalillo County
- 26 new cases in Chaves County
- 9 new cases in Cibola County
- 45 new cases in Curry County
- 136 new cases in Doña Ana County
- 21 new cases in Eddy County
- 1 new case in Grant County
