Registration Opens For YMCA’s Little Youth Basketball

SPORTS News:

The Family YMCA’s Little Youth Basketball is an introductory program for youth in grades K-1st who would like to learn the basics of basketball, team participation, and to play a few casual games.

Registration for this program is open until Thursday, March 2. Players will meet twice per week for practice and games, March 7 – April 13, except during Spring Break.

Volunteer Coaches, Asst. Coaches and Team Parents needed.

ALBUQUERQUE ― The New Mexico Senate “Lobos” tip off against the House of Representatives “Aggies” on Wednesday, March 1, at Santa Fe High School.
 
The hotly-contested game is a fun event for those on the court, on the bench and in the stands. But everyone knows that the real opponent is cancer.
 
The annual game is an important source of private donations for The University of New Mexico Comprehensive Cancer Center. Over the past six years, it has raised more than $100,000.

Precision Rifle Team Takes 2nd At Nationals

This past weekend the Los Alamos High School precision rifle team traveled to Alabama to compete in the Navy National Air Rifle Championships.
 
The team finished second against a field of the top teams from across the nation. Samantha Miller placed second overall in the individual category. Stephanie Nielsen was awarded her distinguished air rifle badge which is a major accomplishment.

A Girls High School Lacrosse walk-up registration/meet and greet will be held at 6 p.m., Thursday February 23, at 505 Rover Blvd in White Rock.
 
Registration is open to girls in 8th-12th grades who are interested in playing on a girls-only team. Registration is $125.
