New Mexico Attorney General Enters Into Historic Settlement For Opioid Dollars, Will Continue To Push Toward Trial Against Remaining Bad Actors

ALBUQUERQUE — Attorney General Hector Balderas Tuesday announced that New Mexico will join in an $18.5 billion nationwide settlement with the three largest distributors of opioid medications in the United States.

The three distributors who will pay into the settlement over the next 18 years are McKesson, AmerisourceBergen and Cardinal Health.

Work Zone Crash Claims Life Of NMDOT Employee

NMDOT News:

SANTA FE – The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) is grieving the death of a beloved employee.

Mittie Runyan was killed in a work zone crash Monday, Dec. 6 on US 285. She and her maintenance crew based in Artesia were placing reflectors on a newly resurfaced stretch of road when the crash occurred. Runyan was 58 years old. She was hired April 3, 2000.

New Mexico COVID-19 Update Dec. 7: 969 New Cases, Totaling 325,272 With 11 New Deaths And 274,839 Recovered

SANTA FE — New Mexico state health officials today announced 969 additional COVID-19 cases.

Los Alamos County reports 1 new case today, bringing the total to 950 people who have tested positive for COVID-19. (County totals are subject to change upon further investigation and determination of residency of individuals positive for COVID-19.)

This update includes 11 new deaths today in New Mexico related to COVID-19 and a 7-Day positivity rate of 13.6 percent.
