Laboratory Retiree Group First Tuesday Breakfast April 2

LRG News:

Los Alamos National Laboratory retirees (and potential retirees) are invited to drop in at the LRG monthly breakfast social between 8:30 and 10:30 a.m., Tuesday April 2 at Muy Salsas at 1315 Trinity Dr.

LRG will pay for coffee and tea and individuals pay for their breakfast and other drinks.

Plumbing Issue Closes Betty Ehart Senior Center Today

COUNTY News:

Officials with the Betty Ehart Senior Center announced an unexpected closure for today, March 27, due to plumbing issues. The decision to close the facility temporarily is a precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of community members and staff.

Senior Center staff will deliver meals as scheduled to those already registered for home deliveries.

Efforts are underway to repair the plumbing issues so that the facility can reopen as soon as possible once it is safe and practical.

Emergency Road Closure Underway On 37th Street

Water crews from the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities (DPU) closed a section of 37th Street to through traffic this morning for an emergency repair to a leaking water line.

The closure affects the stretch between Villa Street and Urban Street. (For clarity, 37th Street becomes 35th Street just before Urban Street.)

2024 Artist-In-Residence Program At Valles Caldera

Valles Caldera National Preserve (VCNP) invites artists from all creative disciplines and genres to apply for the 2024 Artist-In-Residence program.

Artists that are part of Valles Caldera’s AIR program participate in a two-or three-week residency in a historic lodge during the summer months.

Valles Caldera National Preserve is one of more than 50 NPS sites that currently host an Artist-In-Residence program.

Application period for the summer 2024 program will open April 1, 2024.

The Los Alamos Arts Council (LAAC) will host local artists for its first gallery exhibit of 2024: Soar.
