Recently, photographer Minesh Bacrania caught up with defending Unicycle World Champion and Los Alamos native, Max Schulze for a photo shoot. Minesh was assisted by Jason Halladay.
Max is the Unicycle 2010 Trials World Champion, the 2010 High Jump World Champion, and the 2011 U.S. Trials Street and High Jump Champion. Max is one of only two unicyclist in the world doing front flips and likely the only unicyclist doing front flips on flat ground.
"My getting started with the unicycle was by accident. I didn’t have an intention, I just fell into it. My dad wanted a unicycle so my brother and I got him one for him for father’s day. It sat in the garage, so I picked it up. It was so exciting and fun that I just kept on going. I am the 2010 Unicycle Trials World Champion. The trials involved technical obstacles like jumping over rocks, across gaps, up and down ledges and over stationary objects," Schulze told the Los Alamos Daily Post.
If you would like to support Max in his bid to retain his World Champion status when he heads to Italy later this month, you can purchase a DVD of Max on his unicycle at the Men's Department of CB Fox for $10. All proceeds go directly to Max to help pay for his upcoming trip to Italy to defend his title.
