on October 9, 2017 - 6:39am

MOUNTAIN SCHOOL News:

The Mountain Elementary School PTA’s Annual Halloween Carnival is 4-7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21.

The carnival began in the 1970’s as a safe and fun alternative to trick-or-treating. This 40+ year-old tradition has become a popular community event.

This year the carnival will feature pumpkin themed activities in the school courtyard with live music, bounce houses, cake walk and a haunted house. There will be a “creature of unusual size” along side delicious Grandma Blue Corn's Kettle organic kettle corn, Papa Murphy's pizza, cotton candy and concessions.

The carnical also will feature a silent auction with many donated items from local businesses and a book fair in the library to provide a quiet escape from all the crazy fun.

Wristbands will be available along with some free activities:

  • Palooza Pumpkin Pass: $5 (12 points); and
  • Palooza Power Pass for $10 (unlimited games).

Redeem wristbands at the prize barn.

The community is invited to attend the carnival and wear their Halloween costume. Proceeds from the event benefit the students of Mountain Elementary School through the PTA, which funds tutoring, field trips and grants for special classroom projects.
