Los Alamos Small Business Development Center And projectY Cowork Offer Workshop Series For Entrepreneurs

This April and May the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Los Alamos is partnering with projectY cowork Los Alamos to host a workshop series for small business owners.
 
The scheduled workshops will cover marketing and finance topics and take place at projectY cowork at 150 Central Park Square.  
  
"In meeting with a variety of entrepreneurs and small business owners in the community, the Small Business Development Center is committed to assisting small business owners achieve their objectives,” Joseph Montes, Director of SBDC at UNM Los Alamos said. “These workshops are the first of several upcoming that I know will meet those goals."
 
Wednesday, April 19
 
“A Marketing Workshop – Part I”
5:30-7:30 p.m.
projectY cowork Los Alamos, 150 Central Park Square
Cost: $20 (includes second workshop on May 3)
 
The workshop will highlight discovering your niche market, developing a marketing plan, planning content marketing, and executing email marketing strategies. This is a two-part series with a one-time $20 registration fee.

“A Marketing Workshop – Part II”
5:30-7:30 p.m.
projectY cowork Los Alamos, 150 Central Park Square
Cost: $20 (no additional cost if participant attended Marketing Part I Workshop)
 
The second in the series of marketing workshops will build upon what was covered in the first segment: highlight discovering your niche market, developing a marketing plan, planning content marketing, and executing email marketing strategies.

“Understanding Your Financials”
5:30-7:30 p.m.

Cost: $20
 
The workshop will cover the basics of income statements; balance sheet mechanics; cash flow; and calculating business break-even points.
 
In general, small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs can go to their local SBDC chapters for free face-to-face business consulting and at-cost training, on topics including writing business plans, accessing capital, marketing, regulatory compliance, technology development and international trade.
 
projectY cowork also offers regular free events and workshops for the community that tend to have an emphasis on assisting high-tech startups and freelancers. All entrepreneurs, remote workers, freelancers, students and others, regardless of their industry, are welcome to use the coworking space.
