Los Alamos Daily Post Surpasses 7,000 FB Likes!
The Los Alamos Daily Post extends its heartfelt appreciation to the local community and readers around the world for helping the Post’s Facebook page hit 7,000 “likes” this week!
Along with this latest milestone, Publisher Carol A. Clark and her team have had a lot to celebrate so far this year. On Feb. 7, they celebrated the fifth anniversary of the online newspaper and the Post becoming the official newspaper of record in Los Alamos County.
Reaching 7,000 Facebook likes is another sign that readers in the area are enjoying the instant availability of local news and certainly another reason to celebrate. Now, Clark and her team have set a new goal – to reach 10,000 likes this year and are encouraging both online and print edition readers to “like” the Facebook page and tell their friends to do so as well.
Whether the topic is election results, road closures, or a story about a new business in town, readers clearly seem to be excited to see the news first hand in a format that allows them to quickly pass the information on to their friends.
The Post’s website is read in every state in the nation and in 129 countries around the world. In addition, the print edition is distributed to every home and business mailbox in Los Alamos and White Rock each Thursday and available in 15 news racks throughout the area.
It’s sometimes hard to believe how quickly word gets out on ladailypost.com, but for example a police story posted on the site last Saturday drew more than 1,000 readers an hour during the first few hours after it appeared.
Facebook users can see all the news as it is posted just by liking the Los Alamos Daily Post page, which also allows them to comment on stories. Readers also can sign up to receive nightly email notifications of the day’s headline links and emergency alerts such as road closures by clicking here.
