High school student members of Key Club perform acts of service in their communities. They also learn leadership skills by running meetings, planning projects and holding elected leadership positions at the club, district and international levels. Chemistry teacher, Kathy Boerigter, is the faculty sponsor for the LAHS Key Club.

Eighteen LAHS students and four accompanying adults will travel to El Paso from March 24-26 to attend the Southwest District Key Club Convention. At the convention they will meet fellow Key Clubbers from Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. Workshops will teach them about Key Club organization, service projects and fundraising. There will be specific leadership training for the newly-elected officers.
