Detailed Recreation Bond Election Information Now Available Online And At County Clerk’s Office
To provide voters information, Los Alamos County has created a detailed Recreation Bond election voter information booklet. It is available for download online here, at the Los Alamos County Clerk’s Office, the County Municipal Building and various County facilities.
Los Alamos County voters will have the opportunity to vote on the proposed $20 million general obligation bond, to be repaid from property taxes for the purpose of designing, acquiring, constructing, purchasing and improving recreation facilities including a multi-generational pool, splash pad and a recreation center.
Additionally, the bond package would provide for golf course and softball field improvements. If approved, the County will add an additional $13.4 million to the budget from capital improvement project funds with the intention of building or improving five recreation projects.
Mail-in ballots will be mailed out May 2, 2017. They must be received in the County Clerk’s office by 7 p.m., May 23, 2017.
