on April 18, 2017 - 7:22am

Community Development Department Director Paul Andrus presents his proposed budget during the budget hearings Monday night in Council Chambers. The department’s budget totals $1,819,685. Council commended the work of the Community Development Department. Councilor Rick Reiss said the department had undergone a cultural shift and he described the shift as almost being historic. It seems, he added, that Los Alamos has turned a corner in becoming homeowner, business owner and contractor friendly. Councilor James Chrobocinski said, ‘You and your staff have done an amazing job turning this department around.’ The Council voted 7-0 to tentatively approve the proposed budget and to add $21,000 for software training.
