Council Approves Lease Agreement For LAFD

on May 11, 2017 - 8:48pm

Los Alamos Fire Chief Troy Hughes discusses a lease agreement for Suite 200 at 999 Central Ave. during the Los Alamos County Council special session Tuesday night at the White Rock Fire Station. The space will be used for a training classroom as well as a storage facility for emergency medical supplies and personal protective equipment. The cost for the amended lease is $2,411.51 above the current monthly cost, which is $15,357.19. Council approved the lease agreement 6-0. Councilor Rick Reiss recused himself because he has a 25 percent ownership interest in the property. A waiver from the conflict of interest was granted because Reiss' interest was publicly disclosed prior to solicitation, he abstains from any participation in the approval of the lease, and approval of the lease is in the County's best interest.
