With the price of taxi services in most cities rising, people are relying on a new form of transportation called ride-sharing.

Companies like Uber and Lyft can be very convenient for those who don’t own a car or quickly need a ride. However, ride-sharing still poses some risks if the driver and the riders are not taking the necessary precautions.

A spokesman for Yes! Communities, the company that manages the Elk Ridge Mobile Home Park on East Jemez Road apologized Wednesday for the confusing policy and communication recently at the park.

South Central Division Vice President Kim Kurz told the Los Alamos Daily Post that some of the items were not handled with the standard Yes! Approach.

JEMEZ SPRINGS — Jemez Valley businesses in Sandoval County and the Sandoval County Tourism Division are launching a new campaign, “Jemez Springs is Happening,” to remind visitors that businesses in the Jemez Valley are still open, despite the June 1 closure of the Santa Fe National Forest because of high fire danger.
 
“The Jemez Valley, which encompasses Cañon all the way to La Cueva, should be at its busiest time of year. But any time a forest closure happens, it can have an impact on visitation in any community,” Village of Jemez Springs Mayor Roger Sweet said.
